From our first visit to the showroom through to carpet selection, measuring and final fitting, all aspects of the job went very well indeed and ran smoothly. We are delighted with the finished job. We wouldn’t hesitate to use them again and happily recommend their services. Vicky and Alex gave good advice and valued guidance at all times.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. V&A Carpets have been fantastic from start to finish, from choosing carpets to fitting. We had a large renovation project and we had to move fitting dates several times and added carpets to our order, and generally moved things around, Alex and Vicky were great about all this and really helpful and unflappable with all my last minute changes and our house now looks stunning definitely 5🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Provided a really helpful service with choosing the flooring and received samples within a couple of days.
Kept in contact throughout the process and couldn’t do enough to help.
Fitters were brilliant, really good guys and finished in half a day. Went above and beyond to help.
I’ll be using V&A again without doubt.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I have had 3 carpet quotes recently and none compared to V & A Carpets. Their knowledge, sound advice and professionalism shone through. They arrived on time with a wide range of samples including underlay. They advised on a type of carpet to have by my front door to further protect my carpet. The carpet samples themselves were of a higher quality than the other 2 companies. 5 star service.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had our entire house carpeted by V&A Carpets as well as Luxury Vinyl Tiles for our hallway and kitchen/Utility. The quality of the carper and LVT is absolutely fantastic. With the kids running round all the time we are really happy with the investment. We returned to V&A for our front door and rear Mats which were fantastic also. Would definitely recommend V@A, a great local business.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Alex has been excellent in providing advice on the right flooring and then helping me find matches to bring ideas to life in his extensive showroom. Personable and helpful, he’s been very helpful with securing stock and working dates around my completion date to get everything sorted pre Christmas.

In a challenging time for all, this has been one of my easiest tasks for my new house. Very grateful. Would recommend as far better than chain stores who’ve no interest in the more personal elements of what you need.

Alternative Flooring Quirky Stair Runner

Stair Runner Carpets

Are you looking for something that has that interior designer’s touch? Alternative flooring is one of an interior designer’s favourite brands. Alternative Flooring does a large selection of set ranged stair runners. These are available 69cm wide, as well as have a wide selection of borders. This helps minimise waste, as you only pay for the carpet you order as well as do the binding at the same time. These runners have all been designed by interior designers and stylists themselves. If you wish to create a great space on your stairs with a high-quality carpet, we recommend asking us to bring these out to you when measuring as it always helps to see these on the stairs in your own lighting.

Stripe Stair Carpet

It is normally visible from your front door and makes you the envy of all your friends and especially your neighbours. Hard-wearing stair carpet

When looking for a hard-wearing stair carpet, the main thing to look for is a short and dense pile or fibre carpet. The denser the pile on the carpet, the better your carpet will look for longer. Our carpet specialists would always recommend a short dense pile on the stairs to help it look better for longer, but we do appreciate everyone is different and many of our customers want something comfortable on the stairs, in a nice deep pile of the carpet. There are also different interpretations of hard-wearing carpets. Wool Carpets will look better for longer in a circumstance which is why they are always a popular choice. The other side of this is being easy to clean and maintain. Man-made carpets are easy to clean and maintain which is increasing their popularity in recent years as we get busier and busier in our homes.

Wool Carpet on Stairs

Wool carpets have always been seen as the hardest-wearing carpet, and thus ideal for stairs. This remains true today. Wool carpets are made with natural fibres. Natural fibres have a natural resistance and return to the original position quicker and for longer than man-made carpets, helping them retain their original state for longer and in doing so show less wear than other carpets. This makes them ideal for stairs and we tend to pound our feet coming up and down the stairs just due to the nature of having to climb and push ourselves up the stairs and our full weight coming down the stairs. This creates extra pressure on your stair carpet. Thus, wool carpets are and will remain good carpets to have as your stair carpet.

Patterned stair carpet

Patterned carpets have long been a favourite for stair carpets everywhere. They are made to last as most are woven carpets which creates a very stable and durable carpet. Patterned carpets come in a large array of different styles, colours and designs. As these would be woven carpets, the only thing stopping great creative designs would be their imagination. Most new home buyers would have seen a show home which would most likely include a patterned carpet in one of the rooms to show off the creative styles with their homes. Contact us to see more designs and options for patterned carpets for your home.

Herringbone Wool Stair Carpet

The UK’s new fashion trend is herringbone carpets on their stairs. Available in wool and flatweave options allows different feels and durability as well as styles. Herringbone stair carpets are also extremely durable and hard-wearing due to the string and intense weave that goes into the carpet to create these styles and patterns. Herringbone Wool carpets are a favourite amongst interior designers as well.
