V&A Carpets have been fantastic from start to finish, from choosing carpets to fitting. We had a large renovation project and we had to move fitting dates several times and added carpets to our order, and generally moved things around, Alex and Vicky were great about all this and really helpful and unflappable with all my last minute changes and our house now looks stunning definitely 5🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Can’t recommend highly enough. Provided a really helpful service with choosing the flooring and received samples within a couple of days. Kept in contact throughout the process and couldn’t do enough to help. Fitters were brilliant, really good guys and finished in half a day. Went above and beyond to help. I’ll be using V&A again without doubt.

I have had 3 carpet quotes recently and none compared to V & A Carpets. Their knowledge, sound advice and professionalism shone through. They arrived on time with a wide range of samples including underlay. They advised on a type of carpet to have by my front door to further protect my carpet. The carpet samples themselves were of a higher quality than the other 2 companies. 5 star service.

We had our entire house carpeted by V&A Carpets as well as Luxury Vinyl Tiles for our hallway and kitchen/Utility. The quality of the carper and LVT is absolutely fantastic. With the kids running round all the time we are really happy with the investment. We returned to V&A for our front door and rear Mats which were fantastic also. Would definitely recommend V@A, a great local business.

Alex has been excellent in providing advice on the right flooring and then helping me find matches to bring ideas to life in his extensive showroom. Personable and helpful, he’s been very helpful with securing stock and working dates around my completion date to get everything sorted pre Christmas. In a challenging time for all, this has been one of my easiest tasks for my new house. Very grateful. Would recommend as far better than chain stores who’ve no interest in the more personal elements of what you need.

    The Different Types of Carpets

Carpets are a popular flooring option that adds warmth and comfort to any room. They come in various types, each with its own unique features, benefits, and drawbacks. In this article, we’ll take a closer look at the different types of carpets available on the market and their characteristics.

Nylon Carpets. Nylon carpets are the most popular type of carpet due to their durability, resilience, and stain resistance. They come in a variety of styles, colours, and patterns, making them an excellent choice for any decor. They’re also relatively easy to maintain, requiring vacuuming and occasional professional cleaning.

Polyester Carpets. Polyester carpets are another popular option due to their softness and affordability. They’re made from recycled materials, making them an eco-friendly choice. They come in a range of colours and styles and are stain-resistant. However, they’re not as durable as nylon carpets and can be prone to matting and crushing in high-traffic areas.

Olefin Carpets. Olefin carpets are a budget-friendly option that’s durable and stain-resistant. They’re also resistant to moisture and mildew, making them ideal for basements and other damp areas. However, they’re not as soft or luxurious as other types of carpets, and their fibres can be easily crushed, leading to a shorter lifespan.

Wool Carpets. Wool carpets are a luxurious and high-end option that’s naturally durable and stain-resistant. They’re also soft and comfortable underfoot, making them ideal for bedrooms and living rooms. They come in a range of colours and patterns, but they’re more expensive than other types of carpets, and they require professional cleaning to maintain their appearance.

Berber Carpets. Berber carpets are a looped style of carpet that’s durable and stain-resistant. They’re often made from nylon or wool fibres and come in a range of colours and patterns. Berber carpets are ideal for high-traffic areas, such as hallways and family rooms, but their looped fibres can be prone to snags and pulls.

Frieze Carpets. Frieze carpets are a popular choice for modern and contemporary homes. They’re made from tightly twisted fibres that give them a unique and textured appearance. They’re durable and stain-resistant, making them an excellent choice for high-traffic areas. However, their twisted fibres can be difficult to clean and maintain.

Cut & Loop Carpets. Cut and loop carpets are a type of carpet that combines both cut pile and loop pile fibres to create a unique texture and pattern. The cut pile fibres are those that are sheared to create a flat, plush surface, while the loop pile fibres remain uncut, creating a looped texture. The combination of the two types of fibres creates a variety of patterns and designs that can range from subtle to bold. Cut and loop carpets are often used in high-traffic areas, as their unique construction provides durability and resistance to wear and tear. They are available in a wide range of colours and styles, making them a versatile option for many different types of interiors.

Textured carpets. Textured carpets are a type of carpet that features a combination of cut and looped fibres, creating a textured surface that is visually appealing and also helps to hide footprints and vacuum marks. The texture can range from subtle to more pronounced, depending on the construction and density of the carpet.

Textured carpets are often made from nylon or other synthetic fibres, as they offer durability and resistance to stains and wear. They are available in a range of colours and styles, from solid colours to multi-tonal patterns, making them a versatile choice for many different interior design schemes.

One of the benefits of textured carpets is that they can add depth and dimension to a room, creating a cosy and inviting atmosphere. They are also relatively easy to maintain, as the textured surface helps to conceal dirt and debris. Overall, textured carpets are a great choice for those looking to add both style and practicality to their floors.

Polypropylene carpets. Polypropylene carpets, also known as Olefin carpets, are a type of synthetic carpet made from a thermoplastic polymer called polypropylene. These carpets are known for their durability, stain resistance, and affordability.

Polypropylene carpets are often used in high-traffic areas such as offices, schools, and commercial spaces, as they are resistant to wear and tear, and are easy to maintain. They are also resistant to fading, mildew, and moisture, making them a good choice for areas prone to spills or humidity.

Polypropylene carpets are available in a range of colours and styles, including textured, patterned, and looped designs. They can mimic the appearance of other materials such as wool or silk but at a lower cost. While they may not have the same luxurious feel as natural fibre carpets, they are a practical and cost-effective option for many homeowners and businesses.

In conclusion, when choosing a carpet, we believe it’s important to consider your lifestyle, budget, and the level of foot traffic in your home. Each type of carpet has its own unique features and benefits, so be sure to do your research and choose the one that best suits your needs.
